Josephine Frances Machac, 91, of Victoria, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, in San Antonio. She was born in Ganado, Texas to Joseph and Emily Lehnert Gregurek on September 25, 1934. Josephine worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse for many years. She was a devout member of Our Lady of Victory Cathedral, serving with the Our Lady of Victory Altar Society. She was a member of Catholic Daughters, the church choir and the Czech Heritage Society. Josephine had an eye for detail and was an excellent seamstress. She also enjoyed quilting, handcrafts and gardening.
In addition to her parents, Joseph and Emily Gregurek, Josephine is preceded in death by her loving husband, Delphine C. Machac, sons, Glen Machac and Gary Machac, brothers, Marcell Gregurek and James Gregurek, and sister, Mildred Sion.
Josephine is survived by daughters, Deborah Machac and Brenda Rodriguez (Albert), son, Kenneth Machac (Alice), brother, Edwin Gregurek, and grandchildren, Nicholas Rodriguez, Elizabeth Santen, Megan Zapp and Cody Machac. In addition, Josephine also leaves behind numerous extended family and friends, all of whom will cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 5-7 pm, followed by recitation of the Rosary at 7 pm, all at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 10 am at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral with interment immediately following at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, or Mass offerings through Our Lady of Victory Cathedral.
