Joyce F. Long

Joyce French Long, age 88, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021. Funeral services will be held 10:00AM on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Colonial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Joyce was born April 20, 1933 in San Angelo, Texas to the late Marie Strange French and Carl Howard French. She had worked for various family businesses. She worked as a legal secretary for Judge L.S. Benge in Goliad County for many years. Before her retirement, she was a legal secretary for a lawyer's office in Victoria.

Joyce is survived by her son, Billy Ethridge; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Richard (R. J.); daughter, Karen Albrecht; step-son, Marty Long (Debbie); step-son, Stephen Long (Suzanne); grandchildren, Stephen Ethridge (Leanne), Kevin Ethridge, Zachery Ethridge, Sierra Richard, Devon Richard (Kayla), Desiree Carpenter (Brandon), Christopher Albrecht (Teresa), Jeff Long (Amanda), Justin Long (Clare), Jessica Long and Forrest Long; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Ethridge, Emma Ethridge, Atlas Richard, Athena Richard, Kamryn Carpenter, Karstyn Carpenter and Kyle Carpenter.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Clarence L. Long; father, Carl Howard French; mother, Marie Strange French; and brothers, Carl, James, Richard and Jerry French.
