Joyce grew up in Oklahoma, where she loved living on the farm with her parents. She often shared many wonderful memories of her younger years. Joyce later attended and graduated from Lone Wolf High School. She loved playing basketball and was an All-State Player. Joyce attended secretarial college and later worked as a bookkeeper for Graves Rouse. She also assisted him at the Numistrama Coin Shop. Joyce was a member of Northside Baptist Church for years and later attended Parkway Church. Always living out her faith and lovingly sharing it with her children.
Joyce had a deep love for sewing, cooking, antiquing, and playing the piano. She was always ready for a good laugh, especially over playing board and card games with family. She was a proud member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She adored the ladies she met and became a close sisterhood. Her closest friends, Marcy and Carolyn, meant the world to her. They had many adventures, laughs, and treasured memories during the 50+ years that they knew each other.
Above all, she cherished her family. She will be remembered for the love and dedication she gave so freely to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Joyce rarely missed a game or event and found great joy in cheering on her family. Her warmth, devotion, and gentle spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Lynn Godfrey and Gwen; daughters, Kristene Pickett and Greg, Kimbrely Kearley, and Kara Kotlarz and Frank.
