Justine Vesely

Justine Theresa Vesely, 86, of Inez, joined her late husband, Eugene Vesely, of 56 years, in eternal rest on February 25, 2019 in Victoria. She and Eugene were married in 1949 in Ganado. They had two children, Shirley (Robert) Hillyer of Raisin, and Gene (Renee) Vesely of Placedo, of whom she was very proud.

Justine was born February 9, 1933 in Inez to the late Alban and Rosie Rakowitz. She had eight siblings- Gertrude (Herman) Stark, Mary (Ray) Boehm, Frances (Oscar) Tudyk, Ray (Camille) Rakowitz, Ruby (Buz) Sawyer, Albert (Maxine) Rakowitz, Dorothy (Lynn) Hagen and Anna (Bob) Reyher.

She was a meticulous bookkeeper for she and Eugene's business, Vesely Maintainer Service and an avid fisherwoman. She loved spending time with her family, a good Pina Colada or Black Russian, gardening, quilting, playing dominos, helping at her church, dancing to polkas and waltzes, going on cruises, and taking trips to Coushatta to play the slot machines.

Justine was a loving grandma to Sarah (Ben) Becak, Bradley (Emily) Hillyer, Corey (Sarah) Hillyer, Megan Hillyer, John Vesely, and Joshua Vesely, and step grandma to Kourtney (Alex) Borman, Dakota (Candace) McCarthy, and Montana (Elaina) McCarthy.

She was blessed with great grandchildren Bailey, Caleb, Morgan, and Baby Becak (coming in April), Louis and Cooper Hillyer, Haden and Hansen Filip, Brylee Vesely, and Lily and Lauren Vesely, and step great grandchildren Jackson, Madison and Carter McCarthy, and Xander Borman.

Visitation will be held at Rosewood Funeral Chapel in Victoria on Wednesday, February 27 from 5 to 7pm, with a Rosary to follow.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 28 at 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Inez. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Victoria.

Pallbearers are Ben Becak, Sarah Becak, Bradley Hillyer, Corey Hillyer, Megan Hillyer and Phil Tudyk.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Inez, Twin Pines North or Hospice of South Texas.
