Moving to a new home in Victoria in 1994, some of the first people we met were Ken and Cindy Bucek, neighbors. We so enjoyed being in that neighborhood and becoming friends with Ken and Cindy for over 9 years.
My prayers and sympathy to Lara, Michael, and Cindy for their loss.
May the Lord keep you close during this difficult time.

Kenneth, Cindy, Michael and Lara were our neighbors in Victoria. In June 2000 we moved from he Netherlands to our new home country, The USA. Not knowing a lot about the American way of life, culture, and for our children, the English language.
On the first night in our new home, the family Bucek welcomed us with a home made dinner. This special gesture we will always remember. They also invited us over for our first Thanksgiving with watching football after. Over time we became friends and, although we moved away, we still are after 21 years. Wil remembers fun times playing golf with Kenneth and together with our children we all spend a couple days at a dude ranch. We remember Kenneth as a hospitable, kind man with a big heart.
We wish Cindy, Michael and Lara all the best and strength for the coming time.
Love, Wil and Karin

Dear Cindy, Mike and Lara,
When I think of my years living in Victoria, so many good memories are interwoven with your family: ringing doorbells, rides to and from school, driveway basketball games (yes, your goal was way cooler!), early morning swim practice with Lara and seeing your dad driving a golf cart. The golf cart stands out because he always would wave and smile. Even though I didn't interact with him much, he was always in the background saying hello, asking me how Lara was doing on swim team and inviting me to watch a NBA Finals game with you all while my family was out of town. He just fit into the mold that was your family's wonderful impact on my life. Thank you, Bucek family and I am praying for your comfort.

Cindy, Michael, and Laura,

Your Dad fought the good fight. He will be remembered and cherished by many who knew him. He was a tall giant with an equally big heart! Ken had an incredible since of wit and humor that was never ending. Yet I feel blessed to have seen another side of Ken not many years ago that left me with such a sense of respect and “AW” It relates to a personal note he wrote to my husband when he retired that expressed his friendship and respect. What that note reflected was a man with deep, sentimental emotions with a Huge Kind Heart! Of coarse it reflected his incredible ability to find humor in life which couldn’t but help make one always chuckle and laugh. This letter was written with such elegance by a man who had incredible depth to his inner being. His serious side, displayed a man with a Huge Tender Heart ♥️ Not the least, was his highly intelligence displayed throughout the writing of this letter.
Ken was a friend to Many! He will always be remembered by Many!
I pray he is rejoicing in the presence of Our Lord Jesus and enjoying catching up on some good laughs with my husband in heaven this day♥️

As the days, weeks, months, even years move forward, draw near to Our Lord Jesus for comfort and guidance for Ken would always want this for his family.

In the meantime my dear friends, you will be in my prayers ♥️

I was a partner at Rosewood Funeral Chapels until I retired in May 2016. I had the pleasure of being neighbors to Ken and Cindy in the Estates of Colony Creek for many years. Our neighborhood was such a wonderful place to raise our children. My son Clayton was best friends of there son Michael and was either at the Buceks house or my house. Ken and Cindy were like second parents to my son. Being a divorced parent Ken and Cindy were always there for me and my son Clayton. Ken was one tuff guy. The kids in our neighborhood respected him. Yes he was a big guy in presence but had a heart of gold. Michael and Lara you were so lucky to have a dad like you did and a wonderful mother. He loved you both. Cindy I will cherish all the times we had in our neighborhood. May god bring his blessings upon all of you.
