Lydia Mae Sykora

Lydia Mae Sykora, age 98, of Victoria, Texas passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 10:00AM-10:30AM at Colonial Funeral Home, with funeral services beginning at 10:30AM. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Matthew Isbell, Jonathan Isbell, Billy Canchola, Michael Filla and Glen Filla.

She was born January 25, 1926 in Inez, Texas to the late John August Filla and Annie H. Matejicek Filla.

Lydia is survived by her son, LeRoy Sykora; daughters, Shirley Isbell (Stan) and Kathy Bing; brother, Adolph Filla (Tula) and sisters, Margie Kucera and Rosie Kouba. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Matthew Isbell (Rebecca), Rachel Clark (Chuck), Clint Bing, Anna Isbell, Julie Bing, Ben Isbell (Mandi) and Stacy Canchola (Billy); and her great-grandchildren, Jonathan Isbell, Jayden Isbell, James Isbell, Carson Clark, Levi Clark, Kailee Casparian, Lilly Isbell, Charlie Isbell, Bri Canchola and Everly Canchola.

Lydia was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Sykora; father, John August Filla; mother, Annie H. Matejicek Filla; brother, Edwin Filla; sisters, Julie Jurica (Alton), Annie (Johnnie) Kotlar and Ruby Filla; and brothers-in-law, August Kucera and David Kouba.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lydia's memory may be made to The Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory.
