Lyn Olney Sears, age 85, of Victoria, Texas went into the loving arms of his Saviour Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 27, 2024. He was born July 1, 1938 in Chattahoochee, FL to the late Claire and Flowers Sears. He served in the Coast Guard Merchant Marines during the Vietnam War and many years following. After his service, he became a tugboat engineer. He loved animals and traveling. He would tell people that he had been around the world 3 times. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and being a jokester and prankster. He was a licensed salvage scuba diver and an ordained minister. He was a faithful Christian. He was friendly and would help anyone in need. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he will be dearly missed.
Lyn is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dellanyra Sears; son, Steve Sears (Tauna); daughter, Christina Rodriguez (Joe); step-daughters, Deyita and Iliana; grandchildren, Steven Sears, Sebryna Sears, Skyleigh Sears, Brittni Castillo, Isaac Castillo, Damian Canales, Joe Rodriguez, Dharianka Garcia, Cristofer Garcia, Jo Andrew Garcia, Alexis, Donna and Daniel; and great-grandchildren, Audrina Moreno, Kai Ruiz, Kemper Sears, Olivia Sears, Nollie Castillo, Ollie Castillo and Violet Castillo.
Lyn was preceded in death by his father, Claire Sears and his mother, Flowers Preston Sears; and brothers, Jack Sears and Victor Sears.
Memorial services will be held Monday, May 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Colonial Funeral Home.
