Malinda Ann Bartholomew

Malinda Ann McWhorter Bartholomew, 87, of Waco, TX passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 27, 2023. Malinda was born November 12, 1935, in Seagoville, TX to the late Jessie Lena King and Rafael Crockett McWhorter. She was a lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star and devoted member of Grace Presbyterian Church. She worked as a secretary with Brown and Root and later in administration at the University of Houston-Victoria.

Malinda was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, co-worker, and a loved and respected member of the community. She gladly opened her home as a gathering place for family and friends.

She is survived by her four children Rhonda Comstock (Jerry) of Austin, Danna Askew (Johnny) of Waco, Bill Day (Linda) of San Antonio, and Jean Day (Cindi) of Victoria from her first marriage to William “Bill” Day, Four Stepsons; Harry Bartholomew Jr, Tim Bartholomew, Mark Bartholomew, and Dennis Bartholomew, niece Kara Bailey and nephew Jason Helquist, nine grandchildren; Cristy Comstock, Brooke Tooley, Trey Comstock, Brandi Aderholt, Christopher Day, Brandon Day, Carson Day, Cory Day, Courtney Day, and thirteen great grandchildren; Madison, Austin, Cash, Avery, Adelaide, Grace, Anna, Kyla, Lowell, Mason, Julia, Evelyn, and Maverick.

In addition to her parents, Malinda is preceded in death by her sister Karon Helquist and late husband Harry “Frenchy” Milton Bartholomew.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 4-6 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.

Memorial services will be held Monday, November 6, 2023 at 10 am at Rosewood Funeral Chapel, 3304 E. Mockingbird Lane, Victoria, TX. 77904.

Pallbearers are Trey Comstock, Christopher Day, Brandon Day, Carson Day, Cory Day and Jason Helquist.

Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Comstock, Johnny Askew, Joe Dailey, Kevin Aderholt, Kris Tooley and Trey DeAtley.
