Margaret Beeler

Margaret S. Beeler, 89, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014. She was born December 28, 1924 in East St. Louis, Illinois to the late Harry C. and Hazel McHenry Spicer. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Margaret was a member of the First Baptist Church, Port Lavaca, and a member of the Violet Chapter 158 Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her children, James R. Beeler and wife Brenda of Port Lavaca; Jack E. Beeler of Victoria; and Nancy Peikert of Inez; grandchildren, Scott Beeler and wife Suzy, Shannon Beeler and wife Jennifer, Kyle Beeler and wife Jessica, Christopher Peikert, Kevin Burkhardt and wife Kathy, Brian Burkhardt and wife Chencha; and great grandchildren, Sydney Beeler, Isaac Beeler, Hayle Beeler, Brandon Beeler, Justin Beeler, Kelley Beeler, Amanda Beeler, Ashley Burkhardt, Matthew Burkhardt and Kinsley Burkhardt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 65 years, George C. Beeler; sisters, Thais Black, Thelma Gindler, Harriet Spicer and Ima Jean Baggett; brother, Paul Spicer and son-in-law, Richard Peikert.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 pm, Friday, September 26, 2014, followed by a Funeral Service to be held at 2:00 pm, Colonial Funeral Home with Rev. David Bush and Rev. Mike Gresham officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Victoria.

Serving as pallbearers are Scott Beeler, Shannon Beeler, Kyle Beeler, Christopher Peikert, Brian Burkhardt, Richard O’ Donnell, Leslie Strigham and Jose Mendoza. Honorary pallbearer is Dr. L.V. Pentecost.
