Margaret Kutach Kucera, 91, passed away on March 8, 2024. Margaret was born October 10, 1932 in Hallettsville, TX to the late Adolph and Andela Recek Kutach. Margaret lived in Hallettsville and then moved to Victoria after she married Edward Kucera on June 20, 1955.
Margaret was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved having family and friends over where there was always plenty of food and cold beer. She loved working in her yard and sitting on her front porch swing along with her dogs Queenie and Peaches. In her early years she babysat many children for working moms, some from when they were infants until they started school.
Margaret is survived by her children; son, Edward Kucera Jr. and wife, Lana of La Porte; daughters Karen Gaebler and husband, Kurt of Victoria, and Becky Loredo and husband, Jose of Victoria. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, David (Scooter) Hairell, Crystal Kucera, Eve Dobbs, Angela Hill, Christina Stirneman, and Jessica Loredo; great grandchildren Brooke Bodway, Ayden Mays, Kylie Dobbs, Reese Stirneman and Collins Stirneman; and great-great grand-daughter Brighton Bodway to cherish her memory.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Edward Kucera; parents; sisters, Justine Prause and Martha Repka; brothers, Henry Kutach and Eugene Kutach. She is also preceded in death by nephews; Henry Repka and Mike Repka and friend Victor Kalmus.
The family would like to thank the staff at Vitality Court and Hospice of South Texas for their care and support.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral, followed by a rosary at 9:30 to 10 a.m., and the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum at the corner of Laurent and Mockingbird.
Pallbearers are grandsons and great-grandsons; David Hairell, Josh Dobbs, Jason Hill, Matt Stirneman, Ayden Mays and Brody Bodway.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Dorothy H. O’Connor Pet Adoption Center would be appreciated.
