Martha O. Soliz

Martha Ortiz Soliz, 82, of Victoria, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022 in Victoria. She was born in Victoria, Texas to the late Ambrosio and Victoria Ozuna Ortiz, on January 30, 1940. Martha worked as a Custodian for Victoria Independent School District, from which she retired, and was a devout member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by sisters; Rosario Ortiz, Andrea Ortiz Rubio, and Victoria Ortiz Trevino, brothers; Paul Ortiz, Ambrosio Ortiz, Bruno Ortiz, Delfino Ortiz, and Cesario Ortiz.

Martha is survived by daughters; Debra Marie Torres, and Madeline Soliz, son; Walter Soliz Jr. and his wife Savannah, grandchildren; Rudolph Encinas and Hannah Torres, sisters; Jerrie Garcia, and Mary Alice Garcia, brothers; Robert Ortiz, and Cruz Ortiz and his wife Bertie, sisters-in law; Stephanie Ortiz, Gloria Ortiz, and Susie Ortiz. Martha also leaves behind numerous extended family, all of whom will cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 12-12:30 p.m., immediately followed by Rosary at 12:30 and Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m., all at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Interment will immediately follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

Honoring her by serving as Pallbearers will be Richard Rubio, Fermin Rubio Jr., Timothy Ortiz, Frank Garcia III, Michael Ortiz, Joseph Ortiz, and Aaron Lara, serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be her brothers; Robert Ortiz, and Cruz Ortiz.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
