Mary Ann Ohrt

Mary Ann Ohrt, 80, of Victoria passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013. She was born June 10, 1932, in Victoria to the late Louis and Bessie Netardus Smolik. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was active in the Catholic Daughters and had served as secretary. She had also served as secretary of the ICA. In 1980 she was Chairperson of the local Muscular Distrophy Telethon.

Survivors include her daughters, Denyce Beyer and husband, Mike, and Marcie Butschek all of Victoria; sisters, Emily Buckert and Frances Patton, both of Victoria; brothers, Jaro Smolik of California, Louis “Smokey” Smolik of Corpus Christi, Luke Smolik and Leslie Smolik, both of Victoria; three grandchildren, Taylor, Blair and Bryce.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Ohrt; two sons, Dirk and Derek Ohrt; a sister, Bessie Adams; a brother, Pat Smolik.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 pm Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm.

The Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 am Monday, April 15, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rev. Dan Morales officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tom Moscatelli, Daryl Smolik, Garrett Ohrt, Jack Allen, Clay Ohrt, Luke Anthony Smolik, Bryce Butschek and Taylor Strauch.
