

Michael David Bowen, 53, of Victoria passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010. He was born August 1, 1956, in Victoria to Leona Svoboda Bowen of Victoria and the late Anthony G. Bowen. He was employed as a supervisor technician for HILL-ROM, a division of Hillenbrand Industries. Michael enjoyed fishing and cooking. He also loved to sing and dance. He never met a stranger and brought great joy to everyone he knew. He had a poet’s heart and was the light of our lives.
He is survived by his son, Colby Lee Bowen of Victoria; his mother, Leona Bowen of Victoria; sisters, Mary Orr and her husband, Bobby, of Yoakum, Paula Obsta of Houston, and Stephanie Meyer of Victoria; brother, Anthony Bowen, Jr. and his wife, Manon, of San Antonio; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his wife, Lee Ann Bowen.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 4102 N. Ben Jordan, Victoria, Texas, Rev. James Amerson officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be his brother, Tony Bowen, and his buddies, Jerry Slaughter, Darrell Reeves, Bob Whatley, Steve Hacker, P. J. Rojas and Mark Pickering.
