Miles Bates Wallace

Miles Bates Wallace, 85 of Victoria, formerly of Premont, TX passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014. Miles was born October 22, 1929 in Mirando City, TX to the late Thomas Frazier and Edna Jewel Bates Wallace. Mr. Wallace was a school teacher in Premont ISD for over twenty-five years and after retirement Miles and Joyce moved to Victoria where they were active members of John Wesley United Methodist Church

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Wallace; daughters, Jan Phillips, Dale (Mike) Merlo; sons, Wayne (Debbie) Wallace, Ross Wallace, and four grandchildren, Jason (Raquel) Merlo, Brian Merlo, Rachel (Logan) Alexander and Brittany Wallace. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Dale Wallace and son-in-law, Donald Keith Phillips, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 5-7 PM at the Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Services will be 10 AM on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the John Wesley United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Doug Harvey, Tim Dodge, Bob Osment, Bill Myrick, Joe Hafer and Lee Caballero. Graveside service will be held at 3 PM at the Lockhart Municipal Burial Park in Lockhart, TX. Pallbearers will be Mike Merlo, Jason Merlo, Brian Merlo, Logan Weller-Alexander, Russell Roberts and Tim Pope.
