Naomi was a source of love and warmth to everyone she knew, and she knew absolutely no strangers. She leaves an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She was born on October 2, 1930, in Lamar County in East Texas to Doyle and Velma Stewart.
In 1947 she married husband Walter Wesley Loyd, a Pearl Harbor Survivor. Together they had three wonderful children, which they raised on the family farm in Driscoll, Texas.
In the late 1970’s, she married Gene Underbrink of Kingsville. They eventually moved from Kingsville to Victoria, which they called their forever home. They stayed married until his death in 1985. Years later, she married Clarence Spearman, and they were together until his death in 2017.
Naomi was an avid traveler and would often comment that she had visited all but few states. Along with the love of traveling, she was a very talented painter and artist. It was one of her most passionate hobbies and she was very good at it. She even had some of her paintings displayed around Victoria. She was a member of several civic clubs for many years. But her most important membership was to Northside Baptist Church and her Baptist Religious. She was a member of the church for more than 40 years and even became the church secretary.
Her vibrance and sense of humor filled the room. She was a very energetic grandmother and great grandmother. The unconditional love she had was undeniable. Her family and friends were important to her.
Proceeded in death by both of her parents, brother Doyle Stewart, sister Doretha Golding, husband Gene Underbrink, husband Clarence Spearman and great- granddaughter Megan Murdoch.
She is survived by her sister Shirley Brothers of Houston, TX, son Stephen (Michelle) Loyd of High Point, N.C., Sherry (Constance Hood) Loyd of San Antonio, TX, son Mark Loyd of Driscoll, TX, granddaughter Stephanie (Chad) Loyd Turany of Taft, TX, grandson Evan Stewart Loyd of Brenham, TX, great-grandson Hunter (Landry) Murdoch, great-grandson Tate (Kaitlyn) Turany, great-great-granddaughter Aubrey Loyd.
Her special extended family –Jeff (Debra) Spearman, grandson Ryan (Beth) Spearman, granddaughter Lauren (Matt) Thurston. Four great- grandchildren, Ansley, Sam, Caleb and Violet.
A Funeral Service will be held at Northside Baptist Church Chapel, 4100 N. Laurent St., Victoria, TX, on May 13, 2026, at 10:00 am, with burial to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be the following, Chad Turany, Hunter Murdoch, Tate Turany, Evan Loyd and Gary Brothers
