

Olga Lambert Vanderdoes, 86, of Victoria, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011. She was born May 10, 1924, in Beaumont to the late John and Lucy Landry Lambert. They resided in Nederland. She had one sister, the late Winnie Bell Thompson, and one brother, John L. Lambert of Dallas. She graduated from Nederland High School where she was a drummer in the marching band. After high school she graduated from Port Arthur Business College, but Olga was a homemaker for her three children for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Vanderdoes.
Olga excelled in every endeavor. If she couldn’t do it with excellence she went on to something else. She was an accomplished bridge player, an excellent seamstress, and worked a crossword puzzle every morning. She was a very talented golfer, bowler and artist. She was a fantastic ballroom dancer and her dancing skills spread to even being one of the top echeloned square dancers in the state of Texas, but her favorite was the jitter bug.
Olga enjoyed reading, traveling and spending quality time with family and friends. She will be missed by many. The loved ones she is leaving behind including her brother, John, are son, Michael Strother of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Alvin Corb of Cypress; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Ron Walston of Victoria; grandchildren, Niki and Alez Henson, Sherri and Joey Stem, Jonathan and Ashley Corb, Edwin and Maureen Walston, Amanda and Al McLeroy; great-grandchildren, Jordan Smith, Sydney Smith, Dustyn Henson, Caleb Henson, Peyton Walston, Marshal Walston, Connor Walston, Wesley McLeroy; friends of the family, Eddie, Carolyn and Jennifer Houseton.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday, March 25, 2011, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Saturday, March 26, 2001 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels, Deacon Dick Koenig officiating. Burial will follow in Catholic Cemetery #2.
