Richard G. Walther

Richard served in the United States Navy from 1964-1970 and was a Vietnam War Veteran. Richard was a loving husband, outstanding father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and brother-in-law. Richard was a free spirit and loved to travel, family camping trips, fishing and his favorite was road trips. He would load the family up in the car and take off, not always knowing the final destination but making memories every mile they traveled.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Jonathan I. Black.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Walther; sons, Paxton “PJ” Walther (Cheri) of Royce City, TX, David Walther (Lori) of Victoria; daughter, Carolyn Black (Scott) of Victoria; grandchildren, James Walther, Nicholas Walther (Shelbie), Laurel Walther, Shelby Walther Cline (Forrest), Samantha Johnston, Brandon Black, Slater Black (Skylar); great-grandchildren, Jarrette and Jenna Walther, Levi and Bruwin Cline, Brooke Black, Annabelle Black Gonzales, Jonathan M. Black and his brothers, Leroy Walther of Uvalde and Tom Walther (Jane) of Houston Heights.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of South Texas.
