Robert graduated from Palacios High School and the University of Texas. After working in the family business, Partain Food Market in Palacios, he decided to begin his banking career at City State Bank in Palacios, Texas. Bob was a founding Board Member and held the position of President of Citizens National Bank in Victoria for over 20 years and retired from Citizens National Bank in 1995. Bob was especially fond of the Citizens National Bank directors and his Palacios High School classmates. His interest in the business community covered many years resulting in numerous friends and business associates. The working environment was a pleasure to him as well as serving on boards of organizations including Palacios Lions Club, the Palacios Volunteer Fire Department, Houston Livestock Show, Victoria Rotary Club, Salvation Army, Citizens Medical Center, United Way, Regional Airport and University of Texas Exes.
Bob’s zest for life involved being with his family and friends. He had a cheerful disposition and loved to joke. Bob never knew a stranger and made all feel welcome. Bob liked to follow the Houston Astros baseball team and really enjoyed cheering on his very favorite, any of the Texas Longhorn sports teams. He will be remembered as a gentlemen, fun-loving and caring person.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Melba Ruth Partain.
