

Roleen "Billie" Diamond passed away February 21, 2015 at the home of her daughter. Billie was born January 21, 1924 in Alice, Texas, to Fred Riedel and Rose Duderstadt Riedel. She moved to Victoria at age 13, graduating from Patti Welder High and attended Victoria College. Billie at age 19 was asked to work at AT&T where she served in various positions, representing the company on community committees, was promoted into management and retired after 41 years. Billie was a proud member of the Communications Workers of America, local 6208 and served a term as president of the local chapter. After retirement, she was very active in Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Women's Lutheran Council, the hospitality committee and truly lived her faith thru her service to others. Billie was proud of her German heritage and was a member of the German Society of Victoria.
Roleen is survived by her daughter Kathy (Reynolds) Tharp, grandchildren Greg (Olivia) Tharp, Katie Tharp and great grandson Wolfgang Tharp. Her nieces and nephews Gail (Vernon) Reaser, Roger (Donna) Smith, Janeen (Don) Vanya and Don (Ruth) Pfiefer. Also, many great nieces and nephews.
Roleen was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Una Puckett, Priscilla Garner and Roxie Smith.
Pallbearers include Greg Tharp, Katie Tharp, Vernon Reaser III, Clayton Reaser, Caroline Smith, and Scott Vanya and honorary pallbearers Vernon Reaser II, Roger Smith, Don Pfiefer, Don Vanya, Gene Bruns, Charley Faupel and Tim Tumlinson.
Visitation will be at 10 AM Saturday, February 28, 2015 followed by a service at 11 AM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel with Donald Angerstein officiating, and interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
