Shelby M. Hilscher went to be with the lord at 7:33 am on August 25, 2025. She was born in East Texas on January 4, 1939, to Owen and Ora Edwards Miller. She met the love of her life, James E. Hilscher, and they were married on November 23, 1957, and to this union three children were born, Kenny, Kathy and Keith Hilscher.
Shelby is preceded in death by her father, Owen Miller, mother, Ora Miller, and son, Kenny (Coach “H”) Hilscher.
She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 68 years, James E. Hilscher, daughter, Kathy Westerman and her husband Clay, son, Keith Hilscher and his wife Jo, brother, Charles Miller, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Shelby was a beautician for 50+ years, owning her Beauty Shop for 40 years.
Her hobbies were working in the yard and garden. Shelby loved her flowers and vegetable garden, her church, First Baptist Church in Bloomington, where she attended regularly and sang in the Choir until her illness. She loved the Lord and her family.
Honoring her by serving as Pallbearers are Jarred Westerman, Jay Westerman, Ricky Newman, Jordan Hilscher, Nate Christine, and Johnny High. Honorary Pallbearers are al the Deacons of First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 10 am – 12 pm at First Baptist Church in Bloomington, followed by Funeral Services at 12 pm. Interment will immediately follow the service at Crescent Valley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to First Baptist Church of Bloomington, or Harbor Hospice.
