Steve Rodriguez Jr.

Steve Rodriguez, Jr. 82 of Laredo passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011. He was born on September 22, 1929 in McFaddin, Texas to the late Steve Rodriguez, Sr. and Julia O’Riley Rodriguez. Mr. Rodriguez was retired for the U.S. Postal System after thirty plus years as a mail carrier and a rural mail carrier.

Survivors include his wife, Sagrario DeJesus Rodriguez of Laredo; daughters, Cynthia Gutierrez of Warda, TX, Gloria Alvarado of Victoria; sons, Bill Rodriguez of Victoria, Edward Rodriguez of Victoria; nine grandchildren and eleven grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lupe Rodriguez.

A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 7:30 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. The mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Rev. Stan De Boe officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council.

Pallbearers will be Bill Rodriguez, Edward Rodriguez, Dennis De La Garza, Fernando Gutierrez, Martin Rodriguez and Lupe Gutierrez.
