Thomas Frederick Dawson, 88, of Victoria, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at his home in Victoria. He was born in Georgetown, Texas to the late Bryan and Bernice Coffman Dawson on October 23, 1932.
He was retired from the Navy after 24 years, where he served in the Korean War, and was a Naval Flight Lt. Commander, where he flew fixed wings and helicopters, and trained helicopter pilots for the Vietnam War. After his retirement from the Navy, he worked for 25 years as a helicopter pilot for Petroleum Helicopters.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Roger Dawson and Bobby Dawson.
Thomas is survived by his wife; Wanda Hayman Dawson, step-daughter; Connie Blackmon, step-son; Wesley Blackmon, brother; Dr. George Dawson, and three step-grandsons.
Funeral Services will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 10 am.
