William "Bill" Machnis

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Melanie (Van), Michelle (Gary); sisters, Jeannette (Andreas), Mary (Chris); grandchildren, Sarah (Michael), Jacob (Kristie), Joseph, Danielle (Andrew), Zachary and great-grandchildren, Lexi, Zailey, Brayson, Sophia and Khloe, along with numerous other nieces and nephews that he greatly adored.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; brother, John “Jack” Machnis, and grandson, Christopher.

A Celebration of Life is on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 11 AM, at Rosewood Funeral Chapel, with full military honors to immediately follow, performed by The Victoria Veterans Council.

Bill had a larger-than-life personality … he was exceptionally intelligent, he loved reading, history, sci-fi movies, socializing with friends, and his family. He worked tirelessly to convert all those in his inner circle into his “underlings, minions, and goobs”. Bill enjoyed being the center of attention. He knew how to tell a good story, and he loved a good debate. Bill’s absence leaves a noticeable void in the room … we are confident he would have insisted on nothing less.
