Carrie Virginia Milliken

Carrie V. Milliken (Baysden) died peacefully in Hesperia, CA , on July 8, 2016, at the age of 85. Carrie is survived by children, Deborah McCleery, Hesperia CA; Vicky Boyd (Scott), Hesperia, CA; Terry Deaton, Barstow, CA; Ginger Byrd (Roger) Clovis, CA; and niece Margie Eldridge (Bob), Beaumont, CA, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews in CA and NC. She is preceded in death by her husband, James D. Milliken. Carrie was born on November 12, 1930 in Richlands, NC, to parents Jane Hepsy Carter and Calvin Ellis Baysden of North Carolina. Carrie was the youngest of ten children. She married James Milliken, June 15, 1950. Alongside her Marine husband, the couple welcomed four daughters and called Barstow, CA home for over fifty years. Carrie served for 25 years at the Cost Accounting office at MCLB Barstow, CA. Carrie was active for years at First Baptist Church of Barstow, Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. Carrie’s joys were her nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. A private graveside service is planned.
