Gary Lee LaPier York Sr.

Gary Lee York, Sr. August 5, 1937 - April 10, 2015 Gary Lee York, Sr. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family in Victorville, California on April 10, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents Delmar and Amelia LaPier York and sister LuWanna Haisten. Gary is survived by his wife Mary York; son Gary York Jr.; daughters Kathy Becerra and Deanna (Hector) Fresquez; grandchildren Richard (Covina) Becerra, Gabriel Polanco, Antonette Albiso, Michael (Erica) Albiso, Yvette (Rico) Diaz, Gary (Serena) York III, Daniel (Jessica) York and Malia York; great grandchildren Alyssa, Jacob, Angie, Michael Jr., Evelyn, Fredrico "Junior", Olivia, Gionna and Giullia; and, brother Alfred "Sonny" York. Gary, a Native American Cree, was born in Butte, Montana on August 5, 1937. He served in the Marine Corps. and was a member of the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana. He loved nature and the great outdoors, which led him to spend over 60 years of his life driving trucks long distance. He drove all the United States and Canada. He drove in Alaska and to Mexico's points of entry border towns. He loved camping and fishing. Memorial and interment services will be held on April 25, 2015 at 10:00 am at Desert View Memorial Park and Mortuary, 11500 Amargosa Rd., Victorville, California.
