

Jean was the first born of two daughters to Lewis and Anna Bowers of Buffalo,NY on December 17,1931. Jean attended school in Lackawanna,NY and graduated from Lackawanna High School with the class of 1949. After graduation, Jean worked as a secretary in downtown Buffalo. She continued to live with her parents until she met and married the love of her life, Boris (Bo). She became Mrs. Stavreff on December 18,1954. She and Bo were married for 53 years until his passing in 2008.
In those years of marriage, Jean gave birth to four children, one girl and three boys. In 1964, the family moved to Valparaiso, Indiana. It’s there that Jean became an avid golfer. She and her husband Bo won many championships together. She also taught Duplicate Bridge and volunteered at the local hospital.
In 1988, Jean became a resident of the High Desert. She attended and volunteered at Holy Family Catholic Church. She also joined the Ladies’ Golf Club at Spring Valley Lake Country Club. She continued to play golf after her husband passed. Later, she joined the Ashwood Ladies’ Golf Club and played golf until she was 89 years old.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Boris (2008) and her son Jerry (2014). She is survived by her sister Carol Krzyweic from Riverside, CA, her daughter Laura Trocha and daughter-in-law Linda Perkins (Apple Valley, CA), her son Robert Stavreff (Victorville), her son Michael Stavreff and daughter-in-law Marta (Oakdale, MN). She was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved.
Jean’s life was full of love and giving. She showed her love to family and friends. She showed her giving through her generosity and volunteer work. She always contributed to the community whenever she could. She will be missed.
