Jess Edward Magnia Sr.

Jess Edward Magnia Sr. was born in Bay City, TX on December 25, 1947. He was the first of four children born to Henry and Sally Magnia. He passed away Friday August 26, at his residence, spending his last hours surrounded by family and loved ones. He was 68 years old. He later moved to San Luis Obispo, CA. He attended and graduated from San Luis High School. After High School, he attended Cuesta College where he received his Associates Degree. He went on to receive his Bachelors of Arts in History as well as his Masters of Arts in Education from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA. He worked as a teacher at Santa Maria High School for a while, later moving to be a counselor at Atascadero State Hospital in Atascadero, CA. In 1985, he began work as a Guidance Counselor for Barstow High School in Barstow, California. He resided there until 2006, when he retired. Jess Edward Magnia Sr. is survived by His Mother Sally Magnia, His Wife Yvonne A. Magnia, His Sisters Lilly Aarnud and Susie Johnson, His Children, Angela M. Wood and Jess Magnia Jr. He has six Grandchildren, Patrick Friend, Monet Magnia, Austin Wood, Derek Wood, Jess Magnia III and Marissa Magnia. He has three Great-Grandchildren, Isabelle Grace Friend, Angelus Williams and Lilah Rose Williams. He has several Aunts and Uncles, Brothers-in-Law and Sisters-in-Law, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. Jess Edward Magnia Sr. is preceded in Death by His Father, Henry Magnia, His Brother Steven Magnia Sr., His Nephew Steven Magnia Jr., His Father-in-Law Richard Barrios, His Mother-in-Law Thelma Barrios, Nieces, Brenda Soto, Pauline Post, And His Goddaughter Jessica Warren.
