July 23,1950- March 23, 2025
Kitten Jarrell, born on July 23, 1950 to Ollie and Dorothy Thompson in Huntington Park, California, passed away peacefully at home on March 23, 2025,at the age of 74.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Gilbert Jarrell: her children, Gidget Woodward (Robert), JR Jarrell (Amanda), and Tanisha Jarrell: and her cherished grandchildren, Willow Laverne, Abigail Woodward, Rebekah Woodward, Colby Jarrell, Makenna Jarrell, and Autumn Jarrell.
Kitten was a woman of unwavering faith, a devout Christian whose love for Jesus shaped every aspect of her life. She generously supported ministries and charities, always seeking to bless others as God had blessed her. She instilled a deep faith in her children, leading by example with a heart full of joy and a spirit that reflected Christ's love. Her life was a beautiful testament to the power of faith, and she leaves behind a legacy of devotion and trust in our Savior, Jesus Christ.
To know Kitten was to love her. She had the heart of a 25-year old, always full of laughter, light, and wisdom. She never took life too seriously and made sure those around her didn't either. Wherever she went, she left a little sparkle- whether through her infectious joy, her generous spirit, or her ability to turn strangers into life long friends.
Kitten married the love of her life, Gilbert, on September 12, 1970. They moved to North Carolina, where they built a life and raised their family before returning to California in 1985 to enjoy the beauty of the West Coast. She was a devoted mother, a natural storyteller, and a gifted singer who found joy in music and the company of loved ones.
Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing she is now rejoicing in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
