

Mayola was born October 13, 1923 to Ernest R. Johnson and Helen Kelly Johnson. In 1941 she married the love of her life, Marion Thomas White. They started their married life in Battle Creek, Iowa after WWII where they operated their grocery store and locker plant. They relocated to Barnum, Iowa in 1961 where Mayola was employed by Bestwall Gypsum Company as a bookkeeper. In 1966 they moved to California. Never one to sit still, Mayola worked as an apartment manager and a crossing guard. In 1980 they decided it was time to think about retiring. They moved to Victorville, CA and built their retirement home. Still not one to sit still, Mayola worked as an assistant in a preschool as well as a clerk in the Roy Rogers Museum. Marion passed away in 1999 and her brother Gary passed away in 2008. She is survived by children Marcia Mangione (Tom Jeffers), Tom White (Tricia), and Sheryl Homolka (L.J.) She was blessed with six grandchildren, Dana Kruse (Rilee), David Kruse (Celia), Timothy White (Kimberly), Jeana Rodgers (Brian), Clint Chapman (Brie), and Corin Homolka (Clint), fifteen great grandchildren, and a great great grandbaby on the way. She is also survived by brothers Ernest Johnson, Jr (Judy) and James Johnson (Anne), sister Ailene Albright and sister-in-law Linda Johnson as well as many loved nieces and nephews. Mayola passed away at her home in Wenatchee, Washington August 25, 2017 surrounded by many family members.
