Pedro(Peter)Lopez, 75 peacefully passed away on December 31, 2019 with his wife Irene by his side. He was born September 17,1944 in Tucson, AZ. He is preceded in death by son Frederick and great- grandson Michael Andrew. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Irene Gomez Lopez, son Peter and daughter Monica Lopez along with 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and his boxer dog Adel who never left his side.
Peter and Irene first met in Kindergarten. Their love was destined as they reunited and became teenage sweethearts in Tucson.
In 1964 they moved to California with eldest son and their luggage of clothes in search of better job opportunities and to live the American dream.
In 1975 they purchased their first home in Lynwood, and raised their children there for next 32 yrs.
He was a terminal operator for the Los Angeles refinery Unocal 76 in Wilmington.
As the refinery runs 24/7 his position demanded long hours, weekends and holidays he retired after 30 years. Upon Irene's retirement from the State of Ca they moved to Oak Hills, where their custom dream home was built, a home where family and friends are always welcome.
Peter adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He liked watching his western and war movies, price is right and family feud tv game shows but most of all he loved his garage where he spent years accumulating every tool and equipment possible.
From ladders, power tools, tape, paint gadgets you need something just ask Peter, he probably has two.
This is where he was often quietly in the background, listening to his music in his garage, where he welcomed family and friends to join him for a "cold" one. Just as he was known in Lynwood Don Pedro.
Peter will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
