

Richard Carl Collier was born April 1, 1948 to the late Inez and Aaron Benjamin Collier, Sr. in Arlington, Alabama. On June 6, 2022 the Lord saw fit to call Richard from his earthly labors to his heavenly rewards.
Richard was educated at Annie Maine High School in Selma, Alabama. Richard relocated to Buffalo, New York in 1968. Growing up Richard was no stranger to the lord and he accepted Jesus Christ as his lord and savior at a young age. He was united in holy matrimony to his childhood sweetheart Frances L. Collier on May 31, 1974. Their union was blessed with three beautiful daughters Sharon D. Collier, Danielle Collier and Kisha L. Collier Brown.
Richard worked as a long haul truck driver for over 30 years with multiple companies he retired from Royal Freight LP stationed in Laredo, Texas.
Richard was known for his smooth deep voice and his quick wit where ever he went he made you laugh and have fun. He had special nicknames for all of his nieces and nephews and was known as the favorite Uncle Richie by all. Amongst his peers he was known as Tommy Joe, Rocky and in later years Grady because of his full head of grey hair.
Richard loved music and was never far from his wireless speakers he loved his oldies with a few current songs in his rotation. As the life of the party he would never be without his music. He also enjoyed playing cards, with his life mate. They were known far and wide as the team to beat when they sat down at the table you knew your time was numbered cause they always won. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling and was a bit of a pool shark in his younger days.
More than anything Richard loved his family. He relocated from New York to California in 2016 to spend his twilight years with his granddaughters and the bond between the three girls and their PaPa was unbreakable. Richard was a loving father and devoted husband. He spent a lot of time with his wife driving across the country and every Fathers Day he would take his girls to the Juneteenth Celebration in Buffalo, New York.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Inez and Aaron B. Collier Sr, brothers Lee, David and Cecil sisters, Pat, Alma and Elaine.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Frances L. Collier of Victorville, Ca; daughters Sharon D. Collier of Victorville, CA; Danielle Collier of Victorville, CA; Kisha L. (Desmond) Brown of Victorville, CA; brothers, Edward (Doris) Collier of Montgomery, AL; Aaron (Doris) Collier of Woodbridge, VA; sisters, Barbara (Jerome) Hamilton of Selma, AL; Marilyn (Frank) Earies of Selma, AL; Inola Collier of Selma, AL; Trena (Keith) Dean of Katy, TX and Tracy Collier of Selma, AL and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
