

Stephen “Steve” Scott James April 12, 1957 – September 21, 2015 was born in Orange, CA. He passed away at his home in Hesperia early afternoon on Monday the 21st of September. His memory lives on with his wife of 24 years, Rosemarie James, his sons Thomas Nesbit & wife Tracy, Gary Howard & wife Alyssa, his daughter Tanya Cooper, grandchildren Hailey & Dean Nesbit and Shea Cooper, his brothers David James, Phil James, and sisters Cindy Simpson, Stephanie Desmond, Angela Kalthoff, & Melissa Humphreys. He was loved by all of his extended family and friends in the community. He was known as a “gentle giant,” a hard working consultant, a great and loving father, grandfather, brother and husband. He moved to the community in 1988 from Orange County. He served on the Hesperia planning commission under the guidance of Rita Vogler, now deceased. He dedicated many years to serving the community in many ways, including standing by the side of his wife, Rosemarie, who served on Hesperia City Council from 1994-1998. He spent 40+ years in the automotive refinish industry where he gained the respect and friendship of many. He worked for many years at DuPont, and was currently employed by FinishMaster, Inc. He will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held at Desert View Funeral Home in Victorville, CA, on Sunday, September 27th at 10am, in the Chapel.
