Betty Lou Laughlin, 83 of Vinton, passed away peacefully at a hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana on Thursday, February 17, 2022. She was born on March 23, 1938 in Choupique, Louisiana to Romaine and Azalena (Vincent) Cain.
Ms. Laughlin was a loving mother and grandmother who loved spending her time surrounded by loved ones. She also loved to cook, crochet, color and work in her flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Mayo “Wayne” Laughlin and Darryl Laughlin; grandson, Christopher Scott Domingue; granddaughter, Celina Renee Menard; parents, Romaine and Azalena Cain; and sister, Irma Jean Laughlin.
Ms. Laughlin is survived by her children, Angie Domingue and husband, Jeff Sr. of Vinton, Cheryl Weekly and husband, Ernest of Sulphur, Debbie Fontenot of Sulphur, Elizabeth Spell and husband, Randy of Lake Charles, and Vance Laughlin Sr. of Moss Bluff; sisters, Ella Mae Carrier and Phyllis Ann Calhoun, both of Sulphur; 23 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur and will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Friday until time of service.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022 in the Chapel at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly.
