Dorothy "Dot" Vice, 94, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024 in her home. She was born to her late parents, Eulice and Octavia Benoit on April 4, 1930 in Sulphur, Louisiana. Dot enjoyed going to the Sr. Center to play cards and to fellowship. She also enjoyed playing bingo, oil painting, cooking, crocheting, sewing, and especially loved to dance. Dot loved to have family gatherings during the holidays. She was a true prayer warrior and loved going to church and serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Survivors include her children, Glynn Vice and wife, Rhonda of Vinton, Gerald Vice and wife, Marvol Gail of Starks, and Gerard Vice and wife, Lori of Engleside, Texas; two daughters, Pamela Ann Martin and husband, Glenn, and Trina Townsend, all of Vinton; her daughter-in-law, Regina Vice of Bremond, Texas; seventeen grandchildren, Christopher Vice, Tracie Koonce, Gregory Paul Martin, Michael Martin, Bronwynn Dubroc, G.W. Vice, Thad Vice, Courtney Robbins, Nickie McFarlain, Joshua Alphe' Vice, Brandy Richard, Jessica Townsend, Jody Hyatt, Kasey Logan, Kristal Eastwood, Kassie Eastwood, and Kori LaCombe; 29 great-grandchildren; along with numerous great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alphe' Vice; son, Greg Vice; two brothers, Curtis Benoit, Eulice Benoit, Jr.; grandson, Timothy Townsend; great-grandson, Garrett Vice; along with a great-great grandson, L.J. Wylie.
A Celebration of Dot's life will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Vinton, Louisiana on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 2:00 pm, with Pastors Larry and Jody LaFleur officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, beginning at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss, Louisiana.
