Garry was a graduate of Vinton High School and McNeese State University. He worked with Schlumberger for 20 years and was a supervisor for Louisiana Pigment where he had worked the last 18 years. Garry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Broussard Courmier; daughters Leslie Courmier of Eunice, Lindsey Courmier Budwine (Jerry) of Orange and Lauren Courmier of Vinton; grandchildren Traci, Brett, Kane, Kelsie, Deondré, Anfernee and Ashlyn; siblings Brenda Courmier and Kay McKelvy both of Sulphur and Randy Courmier (Glenda) of Lake Charles.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gawain and Wyolene Courmier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from St Joseph Catholic Church in Vinton under direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Father Donald Jeffery will officiate. Burial will be in Cormier Cemetery in Toomey. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 4 until 9 pm on Tuesday with a rosary at 6 pm and from 8 until 9:45 am on Wednesday.
