

He was a native of Zwolle and had been a resident of Vinton for the last 56 years, coming from Winnsboro, La. Glyn was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Orange, Texas. He was a member of the Choctaw-Apache Tribe of Ebarb, La. He was a 1948 graduate of Zwolle High School. He then entered the U.S. Air Force where he served for four years. He also graduated from Northwestern State College where he met his wife, Margaret. Glyn had a deep love for his children and grandchildren, fishing, hot tamales, sports, teaching, coaching and especially the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Margaret Ebarb of Vinton; three children, Melissa Slusher and husband Bruce of Long Beach, Wash., Phillip Ebarb and wife Stacey of Orange, Texas, and Valrie Gilbeaux and husband Troy of Little Cypress, Texas; grandchildren, Sarah Slusher and husband, Derek Schlicke, Thaddeus “Tad” Prescott, Jace Prescott, Dakota “Dak” Prescott, Bailey Gilbeaux, Stephen Gilbeaux and Lyvia Ebarb; three great-grandchildren, Kennedy Prescott and Annabelle and Edward Schlicke; sisters-in-law, Ruth Dibble of New York Mills, N.Y., and Lucy Dosher of Arlington, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Prescott; his parents, Marceline and Martha Ebarb; brothers, Henry, Adam, Eldon, Elmer and James “Bobby” Ebarb; and sisters, Verda “Sis” Carpenter, Verna “Bib” Matthews and Thelma “Dolly” Paddie.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, April 19, in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1401 W. Park Ave, Orange, Texas. Father Keith Giblin will officiate. Inurnment will be in the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Memory Garden. The family will receive friends on Sunday from noon until 4 p.m. in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Amedisys Hospice in Lake Charles or Huddle Up For Life Foundation (2722 Austin Street, Orange, TX 77630). The family would like to give special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for their excellent care and comfort for Glyn.
