She was a native and lifelong resident of Vinton. Jeanette was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vinton. She enjoyed playing Bingo and watching sports, especially the New Orleans Pelicans, the Houston Astros, and the New Orleans Saints. She had worked for many years as a carrier for the Lake Charles American Press.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, James Duhon of Vinton; her Godchildren, James Guidry and husband, Danny of Cade, Tabitha East and husband, Lance of Sulphur, and Alicia Moody of Vinton; her siblings, Shirley Kibodeaux of New Iberia, Linda Doucet and husband, Leonard of Sulphur, Betty Coleman and husband, Robbie of Iowa, Debbie Kidwell of Florida, Judy Moody of Vinton, Gary Moody of Vinton, and Roland Moody and wife, Kathy of Hackberry; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Furbie Moody; and her siblings, Russell Moody, Preston Moody, and Marie Courville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 27, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Carlos Garcia will officiate. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Sunday with a Rosary Service at 6 p.m. and will resume at 8:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
