Laura was a native of Sulphur and lived in Vinton for 10 years. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Vinton. She enjoyed painting, crossword puzzels, playing music and watching TV.
Survivors include loving husband of 5 years Morgan Deshotel; children Crystal Lynn Barnard, Christina Deshotel and Morgan Deshotel, Jr., all of Vinton; brother Billy Landry of Vinton, and 2 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Joseph Anderson, Roy Anderson, Isiah Anderson, Alton Broussard, Emil Deshotel, Michael East and Larry Cloud.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. The Rev. Donald Pinckney will officiate. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. Tuesday until time of service.
