She was a native of LeBleu Settlement and was a graduate of Iowa High School. Mable later made her home in Vinton, LA. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Vinton for many years where she taught Sunday School. Mable was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star for many years. She was an avid gardener who loved all varieties of flowers and plants. Mable loved to cook and her "Rice & Gravy" will forever be missed by all those who loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Betty Duhon of Lake Charles, LA, David Keele (Becky Dowd) of Vinton, LA, and Daniel Keele (Eloy Serenil) of Orange, TX; her grandchildren, Kent, Shaun, Lauren, Selena, and Alexis; her great-grandchildren, Mya, Bayleigh, and Grant; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Mable is preceded in death by her husband, Billy West; the father of her children, Rubin AC Keele; her son, Charles Keele; her parents; her sister, Mary Bowman.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church in Vinton with Pastor Rob Tibbitts officiating. Burial will follow in the West Family Cemetery in Vinton under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Visitation will be on Monday, February 7, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday morning from 8-10 a.m. in the church.
