Rose Marie Young, 79, of Sulphur, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025. She was born to her late parents, Michael and Addie Mae Moleski on August 14, 1946 in Orange, Texas. She was first employed with Livingston Shipyard in Orange, and then moving to Louisiana she went to work for the Industrial Supply Co. for 35 years and 1 day. Rose was a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vinton and St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss. Some of her hobbies included playing cards and fishing while she was also a member of several organizations: VFW Auxiliary Post 2775, Krewe of Bon Coeur of Lake Charles and Krewe des Danseur Fou of Sulphur, Sulphur Les Chapeaux Rouge and Phi Beta Sorority of Lake Charles. To anyone who knew Rose, her grandchildren were her WHOLE world and family was most important to her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, R. Michele Landry (Trey Mills); sister, JoJo Monfils (Ray); and three grandchildren, Caleb Michael Landry, Tanner Joseph Young, and Taylor Rae Young.
Rose is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Danny Ray Young, Sr.; and her son, Danny Ray Young, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vinton, Louisiana on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 1:00 pm, with Father Carlos Garcia officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Vinton, Louisiana on Saturday, from 10:00 am until the procession to the church. Burial will be at Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly, Louisiana.
