

He was a native and lifelong resident of Vinton where he was a member of Faith Assembly of God. Timbo was a Merchant Mariner and was an accomplished and very respected Tug Boat Captain. He enjoyed playing music, mainly the guitar and piano, writing music, and singing. He passed his love of music onto his children. Anyone who knew Tim would say he was a man who would always put himself last and others first, and who adored his family.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Mary Hantz of Vinton; his four children, Tim Hantz, Jr. and wife, Amy of Deweyville, Texas, Chris Hantz and wife, Cassie of Vinton, Roxanne Breaux and husband, Swin of Sulphur, and Robin Hantz of Vinton; his sister, Linda Cain and husband, Leslie of Vinton; his brother, Jim Hantz of Baytown, Texas; and his grandchildren, Rebecca Breaux, Michael Breaux, Payton Hantz, Jaxson Hantz, Corban Hantz, Sawyer Hantz, and another grandbaby on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Dorothy Hantz; and a granddaughter, Trinity Lee Hantz.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 3, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. The Revs. Charles Holt and Gerald Rodrigue will officiate. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday in the funeral home.
