Veronica Dolan

She was a native of Waterbury, Connecticut and had been a resident of Vinton for the last 23 years. Veronica, affectionately known as "Aunt Ronnie" to many around Vinton enjoyed knitting and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include her sister, Mary Chiasson of Vinton; nieces and nephews, James Dolan of New Britain, Connecticut, John Dolan of Ossening, New York, Kathy Kaminski of Litchfield, Connecticut, Veronica Leger, Jamie Simon, and Justin Chiasson, all of Vinton, and Cathy Jordan of Beaumont, Texas; special nephew, Richard Chiasson of Vinton; and numerous great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Catherine McGrail Dolan; her brothers, John Dolan, James Dolan, and Rev. Justin Dolan, M.S.; and a great-nephew, John Dolan.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Susil Fernando and her cousin, Rev. Rev. John J. Foley, C.S.J., will officiate. Pallbearers will be Justin Chiasson, Kevin Leger, Ryan Leger, Patrick Jordan, Randy Broussard, and Garrett Berry. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Thursday with a rosary service at 6 p.m. and will resume Friday at 8:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vinton or Our Lady School in Sulphur.
