William Mack "Bill" Nixon, Sr.

William Mack "Bill" Nixon, Sr., age 81, of Starks, Louisiana passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Lake Charles Memorial surrounded by his loved ones. William was born on July 4, 1938 in Calvin, Louisiana.

William worked as a Boilermaker in Local 587, Orange, Texas for over 35 years. After retirement he Owned and Operated Bill's Automotive in Starks, Louisiana. He was also proud to be a 32 degree Mason and belonged to the Masonic Lodge in Vinton. William loved to travel and had a love for roses. William was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Ozie Nixon, brothers, Melvin and Robert Nixon, and sisters, Abbie Jean Fuglaar and Betty Jo Johnson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mickie Nixon of Starks, LA; daughter, Billie Jo Brown and husband, Robert; son, William Mack "Bubba" Nixon, Jr. and wife, Jean; grandsons, William Joseph "Joey" Nixon and Taylor Nixon; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Vivian Nixon; two fur-babies, Diablo and Chewy; nephews, Chuck Morse and Angie, Johnny Nixon, Larry Gene Fuglaar and wife, Melba, Sam Johnson, Jr and wife, Vickie, Bill Johnson, David Johnson and wife, Rebecca, and Robert Allen and wife, Teena; nieces, Jane Sanders and husband, Sandy, Brenda Standley and husband, Herb, Linda Fuglaar Enkey, Dianne Johnson Hickey and husband, Kevin, Ramona Kay, and Becky Dixon and husband, Russell; a host of cousins; and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Hixson Funeral Home in Vinton. Visitation will resume from Noon until time of service.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Hixson Funeral Chapel in Vinton. Burial will follow in Miller Annex Cemetery in Starks, Louisiana. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hixsonvinton.com for the Nixon family.
