

Carol Bagdon “ACAB” passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013. Carol was comfortable, without pain and with her son. Carol was born on August 20, 1939 in Burlington, NC. Carol relocated to Sanford, FL with her parents, Mr. Earl Homer Arwood and Ms. Emma Jane Lane. She moved to Norfolk, VA where she married Paul E. Bagdon and raised their son, Paul D. Bagdon. At the age of 38, Carol decided to further her educaton and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Old Dominion University and also went on to receive a Masters Degree in Social Work from Norfolk State University.
Carol was well respected by fellow Professionals and Patients in her chosen field of Chemical Dependency Treatment. After retiring, she spent her time as a foster parent to abused and neglected toddlers within the Virginia Beach Foster Care Program. Carol will best be remembered for her strong will, independence, determination and unconditional love that she shared with all that came into her life.
Survivors include brother, Whitley Arwood of Atlanta, GA; sister, Barbra J. Brown of Sanford, FL; brother, Dennis B. Arwood of Philadelphia, PA; son, Paul D. Bagdon; and grandson, Preston E. Bagdon of Virginia Beach, VA. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, 4889 Princess Anne Rd in Virginia Beach followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at her son’s home located at 4732 Marlborough Dr., Virginia Beach, VA 23464.
