Anthony “Tony” J. Pezzella III, 63, passed away on December 3, 2016. Tony was born on September 18, 1953 to Anthony J. Pezzella Jr., and Nancy M. Pezzella in Norfolk, VA. His mother preceded him in death.
Tony was the Director of Scheduling Resources for ECPI University. He graduated from Lake Taylor High School, earned his Bachelors of Science Degree from ODU and his Masters of Arts in Management from Regent University.
Tony was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing golf, baseball, softball, and basketball including playing on the last Old Dominion Freshman Basketball Team. He was also an accomplished classical guitarist and proud to be a member of the Tidewater Guitar Orchestra.
He is survived by his loving wife Melva of 26 years; his father Anthony J. Pezzella, Jr. and wife Anna M. Pezzella; his brother Stephen D. Pezzella; his sister Dianne Pezzella Kohler and her husband Tom Kohler; and nieces and nephews Kelsey Kohler, Stephen Anthony Kohler, Brian Kohler, Jamie Allen and her husband Andy Allen, Amanda Leftwich and her husband Jason Leftwich; and his 4 pets Mr. Max, Delilah, Romeo and Baca.
Tony will be missed by family, friends, and anyone that knew him.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Rd., Virginia Beach VA 23462.
A Celebration Service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11am at the funeral home. A burial will follow at Colonial Grove Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, VA.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The American Parkinson’s Disease Association at www.apdaparkinson.org.
