

VIRGINIA BEACH- Carrie Love Winborne Garner, 90, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on April 11, 2010.
Mrs. Garner was born in Whaleyville, VA to the late John Richard Winborne, Jr. and Ellen Marie Roberts Winborne. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, Charles H. Garner.
She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk, where she was Publications Secretary for twenty years and a member of the Mims Bible Class. She loved tennis, and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Atlanta Braves.
Survivors include a daughter, Charleene Garner Bateman; a sister, Jane E. Martin, both of Virginia Beach, VA; two grandsons, Brad Bateman and wife, Jennifer; Bill Bateman and wife, Nicole; five great grandchildren, Garner, Brandon, Madeline, Julie, and Anderson; a sister-in-law, Selma Holland Winborne, an aunt, Elizabeth “Baby Lou” Plumley and beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 15, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home.
A celebration of Carrie Love's life will be held on Friday, April 16, 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Norfolk by The Rev. Richard Baker. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
