Charlie was born on June 12, 1941 in Hanford, CA. He lived in California, Dallas, Denver, Oregon and Massachusetts before settling in Virginia Beach in 1982.
His five-decade career in the telecommunications industry allowed him to travel all over the world, but what he valued most was the opportunity to make connections with people. For 40 years, he also passionately devoted his time to spiritual studies, from religious insights and alternative healing to seeking the the divine nature of mankind.
In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by three children: Briane Stanton and Angela Sidman of Sacramento and Julie Stanton of Chicago; his grandson, Jacob Sidman; and his elder twin sisters: Patricia Carpenter and Nancy Stanton, also in California. Equally dear to him were the host of friends and loved ones who he considered family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a cause close to his heart, Alzheimer's Association (alz.org). A memorial service will be held on July 27 at 3:00 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home on Princess Anne. To leave a condolence, visit www.memorialwebsites.legacy.com/CharlieStanton.
