Claude Millard Owens Jr. went to be with Jesus March 2, 2023. Claude was born on November 12, 1929 in Norfolk. He was the middle child of Claude Millard Owens Sr. and Marjorie Everett Owens. He is survived by his wife, Joan of 67 years and 3 loving daughters, Dana McMillan (Gil), Laura Ellis (Chris), and Sandie Yuzon (Nino). Claude adored his grandchildren Bailey, Holly, Owen Ashley, Parker, Matthew, Grant, Adam, Julie and 9 beautiful great-grandchildren. His greatest joy in life was his faith and his family.
After graduating from Maury High School, Claude played softball for the Marine Corp All-Star team. He was an active member of Kempsville Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach. One of his favorite ways to serve the Lord was being an early morning greeter for 15 years at KPC. He retired after a 33 year career with State Farm.
A celebration of life will be held at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel on Thursday, March 9, 2023 with visitation at 9:00 a.m. and the service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
