Uncle Harry was always a pleasure to visit or be around.  Whether it was the Port of Miami when he came in on one of the ships he was commanding, learning all the latest in military firepower during the visit, or that outstanding Navy chow they served.  But you had to be on your toes because he would test you with one  of his many practical jokes.  The Family Picnics were always more exciting when he showed up with more of his humor and stories that had undertones of giving guidance to life's lessons.  Always the Family man and always wanting to help everyone- it was his way; the complete essence of an Officer and a Gentleman.  He will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved him but he can go in peace knowing he was a great mentor and made this Earth a better place by his presence here.

I remember visiting Uncle Harry and Aunt Jean when my children, Kris and Rick (sons of Richard Lindstrom) were young.  Harry was out riding his lawn tractor and I think he offered to take both the boys for a ride.  I was taken aback and how much he resembled his older brother, Orvar.  Even though Richard and I had been divorced for several years, our welcome was warm and caring.  I was sorry I had not gotten to know both of them better.  He was a fine man, strong in his faith.  It's a comfort knowing he is in the arms of his loving Savior.

I have loved my "Unca Harry Eddard" dearly.  He will be eternally missed.  I first called him "Unca Harry Eddard" when I was a precocious toddler about three years old, I believe it was.  (Ask Aunt Jeannie!)  He was Leslie's (my Daddy) "baby brother".   
   Such a kind, gentle being.  But, full of mischief, too.  We all come by it honestly from those Swedes.  Being a Lindstrom has been a wonderful, loving experience, and Unca Harry Eddard was a great contributor to that existence for me.  And since I lost my Daddy at the age of 21, he and Aunt Louise informed me of family history I would have not known about otherwise.  
   He was an amazing person and I shall miss him immensely.  But, I have some wonderful, loving memories.

Uncle Harry was a man of honor, respect, and generosity.  He was a genuine human being.  He was a great comfort to my mother, his sister, in her last few years of life.  I will never forget his generous giving of his time to visit my mom.  He was also a man of practical jokes.  I think that may have come from the Swedes he was raised by and with.  One of our greatest adventures were flying P-51 Mustangs out of a central Florida airport.  We both rode in separate aircraft for an hour.  It was an experience we never forgot.  I will miss Uncle Harry for the kind, gentle, and genuine man that he was.  I will also miss his wit and sense of humor.  Safe travels Uncle Harry to the big  aircraft hangar in the sky.
