Hilda Mae Williams Brown

went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 6, 2010. She was born March 27, 1926 to the late Dallas and Susie Williams in Knotts Island, VA. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years; James G. “Cully” Brown.

Hilda is survived by her son; James Douglas Brown and wife Peggy of Williamsburg, VA; daughter, Carolyn Rowell and husband Bob of Virginia Beach, VA; sister, Janie Blair of Staunton, VA; four grandchildren, Michelle, Greg, Jenny and Courtney; six great-grandchildren, Sean, Samantha, Nick, Ashley, Zack and Ava. She also is survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Hilda was a Registered Nurse at DePaul Hospital were she trained and worked most of her career. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sewing. Hilda was also a member of St. John’s Baptist Church.

A Graveside service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Nimmo United Methodist Cemetery, 2200 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456
